Repair Details

There is an often heard expression "things aren't built like they used to be".

Applied to central heating boilers, it is not such a bad thing that they have changed. Older boilers really were very wasteful indeed, with the cost of gas being high and perhaps more importantly the question over climate change, things had to progress. The unfortunate side effect of the greatly improved efficiency of modern appliances is an equally great increase in their complexity. Boilers of twenty or more years ago were very simple 'machines', with relatively few things to go wrong, often running for many years without fault. Nowadays boilers have many more parts, controlled by sophisticated electronics and are bound to experience problems more frequently. We have a great deal of experience working with the newer appliances and this is almost a speciality. We can repair all makes and model of combination and condensing boiler, along with gas fires, cookers and most plumbing related problems.

Our expertise doesn't end with appliances themselves though, don't forget that your boiler is part of a 'system' as well and that also has components that can fail from time to time e.g. timers, thermostats, pumps, motorised valves, etc. Many systems can benefit greatly from a thorough clean out (Power Flushing) and we will be happy to advise. Unvented hot water systems and LPG appliances are also catered for.

Below is an example of a relatively simple 'modern' boiler with some of the parts listed, we think you will agree that "things definitely aren't built like they used to be". Put simply - they are much more efficient, but less reliable. We can help when the inevitable happens.
